I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
